Client Port for Remote Desktop

I know that the server for RD listens on port 3389. But
what port does the client listen on?

Does the client for RD web connection listen to the same
port that I tell it to find the server on?

If I want the client (and/or the server) to communicate
on a different port than it is now, can I pick any port,
or is there a potential conflict with other programs?
For instance, can I have it listen on port 25 which is
normally used for telnet?

The client uses whatever port it gets from the OS. The
client "source port" doesn't matter, what matters is
the "destination port" or what port the server is
listening on.

You can change the server to listen on whatever port you
want that isn't already used on the server. Search the
Knowledge Base (http://support.microsoft.com) for "Remote
Desktop Listening Port" for details on how to change it.
