Hi,
After a server reboot some days ago, a Win2k remote client can n
longer connect to the NT4 server via PPTP VPN, but had no problem fo
many months before this. Other users are not affected and continue t
use the VPN without issue.
The Client:
Win2k pro SP3 using a standard ms VPN PPTP connection from a remot
corporate network. After attempting to connect, error 619, disconnecte
is displayed.
The Server:
NT4 SP6a Domain controller, sole server on network, connected to ADS
router/modem/firewall with PPTP passthough enabled. When the affecte
client tries to connect several identical events are logged:
Event 20077: An error occurred in the Point to Point Protocol module o
port ####. The PPP negotiation is not converging.
Steps taken so far:
Reboot client and server
Try logging in as different users
Recreate connection on client
Try connecting from different locations
Reapply service pack on client
Remove Norton products from client
I have yet to find a solution to this anywhere, if anyone knows th
answer I would greatly appreciate it
