Here is my problem. My clients cannot connect/join the
domain that I have set up in my school computer lab.

My lab set up is as follows: I have a 512K frame relay
with the router acting as DHCP. I have assigned the
server IP statically to the server. I have to have this
setup, I cannot use DHCP on the server. So...the clients
are assigned their IP and Gateway by the router.

I believe that this interfering with the DNS on the server
an not allowing my clients to join the domain that I have
set up. I have had one suggestion that it might be legacy
name problem...but don't know where to fix it.

Before I had the frame setup, I was able to join the
domain. This is why I believe that it is a DNS problem.

Any Suggestions??

Joining requires domain communication. Domain communication relies on DNS.
DNS stores AD's resource and service locations. If the machines are
configured with "some other" DNS other than the one that hosts the AD zone
name, then it will fail.

I don't recommend using the router's DHCP, but if you *must*, then make sure
that the DNS addresses they are giving your clients are *ONLY* the DNS
servers that AD is using.
