Clicks in dv-avi saves

I did my first dv-avi save of a project yesterday and low and behold, I did
indeed get the sound clicks at the beginning and ending of transitions! I
saved the same project to High quality NTSC with no problems at all. Did we
decide there was a fix for this? I'm sorry. I know it's been discussed and I
should have paid more attention.

My current theory as to the cause is the 27th frame drop.

Work arounds seem to range from moving the transition point slightly, using
wave/wma files for audio track instead of MP3, to saving as wmv (non-avi).
 
Hopefully this would be fixed in next version. But the workaround for the
current version is to process the audio seperately from the video. First
save the edited project as DV to "goodvideo.avi". Then save the same project
with a WMV profile to "goodaudio.wmv".

Now combine the two in another project by placing the goodvideo.avi in the
Video Track (mute its audio), and the goodaudio.wmv in the Music Track. Now
save movie to another DV AVI.

In some cases this may be a good work around, but if your project has more
than a few video clips it's very likely the audio and video won't remain in
sync.

Ok, Wojo, you lost me here. (You have to excuse me. Our 115 degree heat
index has fried everything here including my brain! LOL ) I wasn't using an
MP3. I know better than that! LOL The song is in WMA format.

Well, I haven't tested with WAV or WMA, but personally I don't see why it
would matter since the cause, so far as I can tell, is due to the 27th frame
drop. What this does is cut about 1/30th of a second out of the audio and
unless lucky the wave form at the cut doesn't match up closely enough,
causing a skip and click/pop. Without actually testing, my current thinking
is that by using a different audio format the wave form is different enough
so that just by chance it matches up better at the cut point of the frame
drop.

But like I said I haven't tested out the different audio formats, but based
on the likely cause it would seems it should not be audio format specific.
