IE 6.0.28

I am getting a popup error each time I click on a link, on any web
page.

Error changes from link to link but is basically this:

URL: http://my.yahoo.com

Action:
http://us.rd.yahoo.com ...
Method: get
p(text):

Action:
Method: get

Action: http:// and another url
Method: get
p(text):

And on and on. Then sometimes the message is short, but if I click OK
on these errors they will go away and take me to the URL I clicked on.
Then it happens again when I click on the next URL.

I have disabled script debugging, set all of the security zones back to
default, tried downloading IE6 to do a reinstall, tried M$ updates,
tried clearing all cookies and cache and I am running out of options.

Has anyone seen this or have any suggestions?

Any help appreciated.

Hi Dasin,

Sounds like you have some malware installed that is logging your search
terms. What is the "other url"?

This is easy to test. Open the Internet Options and on the Advanced tab
uncheck "Enable third-party browser helper objects". Restart IE and if the
problem has gone away then you know that it is an Add-In toolbar that causes
the problem.

I am suspicious that it may be the Yahoo toolbar since it hijacks IE's
Search Hook to use Yahoos search engine in IE.

Regards.

Hi Dasin,

Further to my testing the Yahoo Companion toolbar (v. 5,5,5,0) is causing
problems on my test machine with IE6 SP1, with the MSN search toolbar with
tabbed browsing installed.

If you have this toolbar installed, suggest you remove/uninstall it to
correct your problem.

Regards.

Rob,

Thanks!!! That did the trick! The MIS guys were here for 3 hours and
couldn't figure it out, they were going to image my drive!!! 5 STARS!
