clicking on hyperlink opens windows explorer

This problem is driving me crazy. When I open a webpage with a hyperlinik
and then click on the hyperlink windows explorer is opened, not the new web
page pointed to by the hyperlink.

I've tried re-registering the appropriate dlls and recreating the app path
for IE in the registry.... nothing

Any ideas?

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
