This has got to one of the weirdest things I've seen in a while on XPe.
I am running SP2 with all security patches. After I FBA, I don't reseal
so I can configure some stuff. I noticed that double clicking on the
Internet Explorer icon on the desktop creates an invalid shortcut to IE
and never launches IE.

It seems like everytime I apply patches, something gets broken :( Can
anyone help fix this issue? Thanks!

Hello Gasmonso,

This seems an issue with the componentized version of security bulletin
MS05-054 (905915), which is part of the XPe December updates rollup. Our
product group is currently investigating. To workaround the issue for now,
please install the runtime XP Pro version off
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS05-054.mspx, reboot
and then run the following command in a command window:

regsvr32 /i shdocvw.dll

Hi all!!!
I found Gasmonso's same problem and I read KS's answer, but I didn't
understand what to do when I go to the link. Can someone explain me, please?
I also noticed that if I try to open a web page from history (e.g.
http://www.microsoft.com) I receive an error message about security, while if
I manually insert the address in the address bar I have no problem. This
sounds very strange, but I tried with many addresses, obtaining always the
same result. Can someone help me?

Thank you all!
