Hello everyone.

When using the Web, is there a way XP can show a little dotted box around
links (text/images/buttons,e.t.c.) as I click on them? I'm getting no
reasurring, immediate indication that the link has been clicked on.

When I ran WIN 98 I had this dotted box, can't I have the same with XP?

Hi,

you can customize how visited links will look in xp.
to do this click on tools | Options and then click the colours button.
then specify the colours that u want for visited links and click on apply.
Or you can reset to the default settings in IE and let IE manage its own colours.

Hi,

You may try this. Right-click on the desktop and select properties. Flip to the appearance tab and
click on effects. Uncheck 'Hide underlined letters for navigation...." This will obviously always
show the underlined letter for easy keyboard navigation, but it should also get the dotted lines
back.

Thank you, Anando, that seems to have done the trick.

I asked this same question in several different newsgroups and forums and
no-one was able to help, not even those who regard themselves as computer
experts! I couldn't find anything about the little dotted box on
Microsoft's site. I was beginning to think this effect hadn't been written
into the XP software.
