Hi
When I did a re-boot, it loaded straight up but now it goes to the welcome
screen and I have to click my user name to continue, like it does coming out
of hibernation. How do I bypass this, like it was previously and completely
load up?

Hi,

Start/run "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes).

Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok and follow
the prompts to set up a default logon.

My guess is that you recently installed the .net framework.

Hi Ivee and Rick
Got it. Yes, indeed, I did recently install .net framework!
Cheers
Roy

No problem. That update adds a user account to the system, so now the system
will stop at boot to ask which account to log on to (even though only one
shows).

Go to Start>control panel>user accounts> change the way users log
on
and off.

and he wanted to say:
- disable 'use the welcome screen'
- disable 'users have to type a password to login
