I developed a website for a client which plays a background sound on
mouseover of menu options. Now in Internet Explorer 6.0, I get a popup that
states "Click to run an ActiveX control on this webpage" with the only option
being an 'OK' button. If I click the OK, the page works fine but the sound
effect (.wav file) does not play.
This has been working fine for months!!!
I have reset security settings using several different combinations with no
luck. The popup still appears. I do not have this problem in Firefox,
Mozilla, Netscape Navigator or Opera.
In doing some research, I came across some articles indicating that the next
version of Internet Explorer is going to require many webpages to be
redesigned or they will break. Another Microsoft Enhancement! WOW!
Can anyone tell me how to fix this without having to redesign all the
webpages?
