I am on a website and I click a link to open a chart. A window opens up
showing the chart, but then closes immediately. I would like to know why my
new window doesn't stay open to view it. Thanks for any help you could give
me.

Hi,

This sounds like the work of Ad-aware Adwatch- the "Block pop-ups" feature.
It sometimes allows a window to open momentarily before closing it.

If not caused by Adwatch, check the settings of other third-party security,
privacy, ad-blocking programs (or toolbars) that are installed. One of them
is probably blocking the new window.

Hope this helps,
Don

I was told that IE6 is probably corrupt because I have turned off every
pop-up blocker I have. They told me to reinstall IE6. I will just wait to
see if IE7 is any better...until then Firefox will be my browser. So far, I
haven't has any problems with that. Even though Firefox is free, I would
rather pay for a browser that works than to use one that's free but doesn't
work.

Hi,
You could try IEFix from http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm or try placing
the site in Trusted Sites- Internet Options> Security, Uncheck "Require
server verification" and enter the site as (for example) *.amazon.com

But, this still sounds like the work of an ad/pop-up blocker.
