Has anyone used this? If so is a permanent feature when set or can you
reverse it if you don't like it/ Does have any adverse consequences like
slowing up the system etc.

I use it and it works fine. Doesn't affect performance and you can turn it
off if you don't like the way it makes your text look.

Microsoft compiles a huge knowledgebase and still they don't bother to
look. Do the following:

- Go to Microsoft's support site (http://support.microsoft.com).
- Search on "cleartype" for Windows XP.
- Several articles get listed include an overview description of
ClearType.

Amazing what can be found with the tiniest of effort provided you even
bother to look. Unless you have an LCD screen (you don't mention
anything about your hardware), don't bother using ClearType.

Still might be worth a test. Standard CRT diplay here looks better with
it on.

Lynn, in spite of the eloquent flame job you received from " Vanguard " ,
clear type works great on my old IBM monster CRT.
So , apparently my monitor is one in a million CRTs that work better with
clear type , or " Vanguard " is ----------mistaken. Nah, that couldn't be
it.
Give clear type a try, you'll like it. Maybe 'Vanguard' should try it, his
flames would be less fuzzy.

Mad Max

I've used it both with a CRT and an LCD. Worked great for me also.
There is also a program that you can download called Clear Tweak that I
use and I really have looking good. Try and make up your mind.
