I have a number of disks which I have recorded work on. This work is
automatically saved as read only. I wish to remove some files but I am not
alowed as theyare read only.I have tried to change attributes but I am not
allowed. How do I remove unwanted files from a disk

Hi,

All files placed on recordable disks are read-only. The only way you can
delete or overwrite them with updated data is if you are using packet
writing software and rewritable disks. Data written to CDR is fixed, and the
native burning engine is not packet writing.

Rick,
Why could you not transfer all Files back to Windows; ( save to My
Documents), completely re-format a CD-RW (which erases everything and makes
it reuseable) or trash can a CD-R, go back to My Documents and delete
specific Files you want deleted, and transfer the others back to a CD-RW or
a new CD-R. Maybe clumsy but can you do it.

Hi,

No reason you can't, but it'll take quite a bit of time.
