I am the Administrator of my Windows Home Edition on my Home PC. As
an Administrator, do I have the ability to Delete All User's Temporary
Internet Files? Similar to removing ones own files through
"Tools/Internet Options".

I can browse and see them, so could just delete them that way. But
what is the proper way to do it, or is there a proper way?

As administrator, you can delete any files that are
not "private".

I use "spider", but you have to log onto the Windows XP
[ home or pro ] for each user, to delete the IE cache
files. Spider performs a deep cleaning of the cache, as
well as removing some other files related to browsing.

IE keeps track of each web site you visit. That's why the
links in IE change color after you have visited them, and
the color change persists.

Yes, you can, and doing that is far easier than logging one as the user
whose files are to be cleared. In fact, you can do a more thorough job if
you're not logged on as the user in question. Simply navigate to
\Documents and Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temporary\Internet
Files\Content.IE5 and delete everything in that folder.

Thanks guys. I knew I could delete the files manually, but wanted to
check and make sure there was not some simple Adminstator Tool which
would delete the files. Deleting them manually means that the
administrator would know which files to delete, and where they are.
And for a simple Home/Family PC, I'm guessing not all "administrators"
would know that.

y daughter and son both put passwords on their User Accounts/Loggins.
You both mentioned Logging in as each user to clean up the files. Is
this assuming the users do not have Passwords, or is there another
Tool I'm unaware of that an Administrator can use to log in AS each
user?

Again, thanks for your help.

Logging in as each user is one way to do it, but it's cumbersome iand
inconvenient even if the users don't have passwords. What I do is simply,
while logged on to my own administrator account, locate the relevant TIF
folders and delete them. In fact, you can do a more thorough cleanout if
you are not logged on as the user involved because \Documents and
Settings\{username}\Local Settings\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.IE5\index.dat is always busy and cannot be deleted while the
owner is logged on.
