Can anyone tell me how I can clear the proxy server
settings in a GPO? We currently set the proxy server in
the our default domain policy but if a put a group of
users and computers in an OU and leave the "use proxy
server" box unchecked it thinks that the policy is empty.
I have tried setting it and then waiting a period of time
and then clearing it in the same GPO. Is there a way to
tell the GPO that you really want it cleared?

Default Domain Policy, takes presedent over all other
policies. You cannot allow a policy to work if it is
disabled or restricted in the Default Domain Policy.

You may want to change the default back, and then
restrict it in another policy, then only assign the
policy to the users or groups you want to have restricted.

Have a great day!

We kind of want the oposite. The default sets the proxy on
with the correct settings. I then want a specific OU to
have a policy to clear the proxy settings and let the
users access the Internet directly through the firewall.

I do not have the domain policy enforced. I have tested
that other settings in this policy get changed. For
example I can have the domain policy set to add a Favorite
and then have this policy add an additional favorite.

The problem that I am having is that when I clear the "Use
Proxy Server" box it thinks that the policy does not have
any settings for proxy. The policy is getting processed
but just not clearing the proxy settings if the box is
cleared.
