Error Messages "You do not have permission to use the
<>mdb object. Have the system adminstrator or the person
who created this object to establish ...." showed when I
open the Access Database (mdb - Access 97) file. All this
files are the secondary backup (on another machine) during
setup before the live machine fail (hardisk crashes). I am
not able to establish the permission right as the
programmer have left the company.

Is there anyway that I can clear the permission checking
so that I can open the file to check data and import into
another mdb file?

Pls help as I really need the data urgently. Thks.

You will need to open the file using the security workgroup used to handle
the original file. The easiest way to do this is through a desktop shortcut:

"Path to msaccess.exe" "path to your database" /wrkgrp "path to your
workgroup file"

You should be able to determine which workgroup file is being used on the
original file by (a) examining the Target of the desktop or start menu
shortcut you use to open that program or (b) by running the WorkGroup
administrator and determining which workgroup file you have joined. The
workgroup administrator file is named wrkgadm.exe ... do a file search on
your machine to find it.

Thks a lots. Problem Solved.
