Clearing my search bar

Hello Im trying to search for a gift for my wife and have
been using the search bar.Can anyone tell me how to clear
the history so she cant find out where I have been.I have
internet exp. 6. I have have gone to the control pan. and
hit clear history but does not do it.Thanks for the help.
 
on your internet page click on tools, then internet
options, and clear history and cookies and temp internet
files
