How do I clear manual formatting in PowerPoint? The "style"
settings for the five levels on the Slide Master do not
seem to apply themselves to slides. That is, e.g., if level
2 is set to Palatino 12 pt with 1.25 line spacing, and if
slide #3 has some level 2 text on it which I manually
changed to Palatino Bold 14 pt., there seems to be no
automatic way to clear that manual formatting. Worse, if i
change the definition for level 2 on the slide master tp
be, say, Times 18 pt. with 1.5 line spacing, this is NOT
updated or reflected in the real slides. So, HOW do I
either REMOVE all manual formatting on an individual silde,
or else REAPPLY the (new) definition for the attributes of
a given level/style. THis is very easy in Word; why not in
PowerPoint?

There are a couple ways:
1) Select the text box on the master and choose [Pick up
object style], then highlight your text and choose [Apply
To Defaults]. I have manually added these 2 icons to my
toolbar. They used to be on the toolbar in older versions.
They are on the Format menu.

2) Or go to Format\Slide Layout. Pick the layout you want
to reapply and click the [Reapply button].
