Yesterday I was changing my homepage and when I started to type it in a whole
list of Webpage Addresses popped up under the window you type in. I decide to
count them and I quit counting at 100. How do I empty I.E. where my Homepage
is the only address in it? I AM USING WINDOWS XP WITH THE SERVICE PACKAGE 2
ON A DELL COMPUTER AND INTERNER EXPLORER 6 IS MY BROWSER.

Hi TERMINATOR :-)

First, clear the Temporary Internet Files:
Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

The TIF size should be set to 50-60 MB. Larger caches tend to be more prone
to trouble.
See "Resizing your Cache"
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

also......

These URLs you're seeing are likely in the index.dat file in the History
folder.
Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm
will delete the History folder (and the index.dat file) and a new one will
be created when you restart.

Or…. the History folder can be deleted manually:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

or...

CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/
should be able to clear the History and the index.dat file.
Just check the appropriate boxes and run it.

Removing some or all entries is an easy registry edit.

For an easier, safer removal method, go to
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
and download "DelTypedURL." This INF file will remove all entries.

This freeware program will remove some or all entries:

Hope this helps.
