clearing history?

Can anyone suggest why the "Clear History" option on
internet options isn't working on internet explorer? I
want to regularly purge the history of sites visited, but
can't make it happen. If possible, please respond to me
directly, (e-mail address removed)--I'm a newbie who is
still struggling with finding appropriate posts. Thanks!
