Right-click the START button
PROPERTIES|CUSTOMIZE|ADVANCED tab
"Clear recent document history"

There is no PROPERTIES choice under the START button in W-XP. Where/how is
"properties" found in W-XP Home?

When I *right-click* START in XP HOME I see a PROPERTIES choice. You don't?
 
Depending on your version of windows...you may be able to
right click on the document name and select delete from
the command options.
