I know the answer is in one of the groups somewhere. I've read it.
Automatic update continually tells that an update in available even though
I've installed all updates.
How do I clear the update? I'm thinking something to change in the
registry.

Hello Nick

You can customize Windows Update by using the Personalize Windows Update
link on the left of the Windows Update web site.
This will only give you the ability to remove items listed in the
recommended updates settings...such as DirectX, Messenger etc.
There is no way to remove critical patches from the Windows Update
detection cycle? Are you having an issue w. a particular patch?

A number of people are experiencing an issue w/ the latest MDAC patch.
Listed below is a quick workaround.

Make sure you have one of the following versions of MDAC on your machine.
MDAC 2.5 Service Pack 2
MDAC 2.5 Service Pack 3
MDAC 2.6 Service Pack 2
MDAC 2.7
MDAC 2.7 Service Pack 1
MDAC 2.7 Service Pack 1 Refresh
MDAC 2.8

The update patch is only able to upgrade the versions listed above. The
easiest thing to do is upgrade to a newer version of MDAC. This should
allow the patch to install.
