clear search history cache

I would also like to know....
Could someone please tell me how to clear the cache on the
search function.

Start -> Search -> For Files or Folders... ->
"Search for files or folders named"
or the "Containing Text:"

You need to run regedit and delete the offending values (in the right pane)
under this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Explorer
Bars\{C4EE31F3-4768-11D2-BE5C-00A0C9A83DA1}
 
I believe you might find that in SpyBot S&D
