Hi there,

I'm looking for a utility that clears the recent documents menu at boot time
or at shut-down on Windows 98.

Thanks in advance,

-Jorge

MRUBlaster

http://www.wilderssecurity.net/mrublaster.html

MRU-Blaster is an all-new program, made to do one large task - detect
and clean MRU (most recently used) lists on your computer. These MRU
lists contain information such as the names and/or locations of the last
files you have accessed. But they are located ALL OVER your registry,
and for almost ANY file type. By looking at these MRU lists, someone
could determine what files you opened/saved/looked at, what their file
names were, and much more! (And, in many cases, the lists are displayed
in drop-down menus automatically.)

Sorry, can't remember an autodelete prog for 98 (I know,
there are some out there cause I use to use one), however,
you can completely remove the recent documents from the
start menu...

To do so,

Start > run >regedit
1. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows
\ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer
2. Right-click an open area in the right pane and select New
DWORD Value
3. Name it NoRecentDocsMenu
4. Double-click this entry and add the value 1
5. Exit and then reboot for change to take place

Hope this helps,
