Everytime I type a letter in my search I get a list of
every last thing that was ever searched for. How do I
shut this off. The list is getting unbelievable. Thanks
for your help, Joia

FROM IE HELP:
To delete Autocomplete entries from the Address bar list

The AutoComplete feature saves previous entries you've made for Web addresses,
forms, and passwords. To delete entries from the Address bar, you must clear
your History folder. You cannot clear individual entries from the list of saved
entries.

On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
Click the General tab.
Under History, click Clear History.

When typing information in Web forms, and typing passwords, you can remove an
item from the list of suggestions by clicking the item and then pressing the
DELETE key.

I have tried the autocomplete thing and clearing my
history, but it doesn't help with this enormous list that
shows up in by browswer search box. This list is stored
alphabetically so that I get a list according to which
letter on the keyboard I type. It's driving me mad! Any
other suggestions? Joia

joia;
You got my whole arsenal in my last post.
---------------------------------------
Close all instances of IE/Open Control Panel/Internet Options/click Delete
Cookies/OK/click Delete files/click Delete all offline content/OK/click Clear
History/Yes/OK.
-----------------------------------------
On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab.
Under Browsing, click to clear both of the following check boxes:
Use inline AutoComplete for Web addresses
Use inline AutoComplete in Windows Explorer
Make sure that both check boxes are cleared.
Click OK.
------------------------------------------------
Verify That AutoComplete Is Turned Off
View the Content tab in the Internet Options dialog box to confirm that
AutoComplete is turned off. To do this, follow these steps:
Start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Content tab.
Under Personal information, click AutoComplete.
In the AutoComplete Settings dialog box, UNselect the User names and passwords
on forms check box, UNselect the Prompt me to save passwords check box, and then
click OK.
Click OK again to close the Internet Options dialog box.
Restart Internet Explorer, and then determine if the problem is fixed.

them.

try this
