I have 15 appointments on one day. I now need to clear the entire day of
appointments. Where is the clear all appointments function? There must be
one. I can't imagine I have to open and delete 15 separate appointments.

There is no 'clear all' option. You can select and delete each or switch to
a table view (all appointments or by category) and delete the ones for
today.

I would Ctrl click to select them all then hit Delete. You never need to
open to delete.

Display your calendar in a table view such as appointments. Sort that view
by the date view. Click on the first appointment for that date and then
scroll to the last. Press delete (sends to deleted items) or shift+delete
(permanently delete).
