Cleaning text files

I use eCleaner 2.01 to remove excess spaces, lines from text.
It worked well for several years.

It has developed a problem:
Now, when it cleans the text, it eliminates spaces between some words.
Usually it effects several words in each sentence.

I tried replacing the exe with the original exe from my reference file,
same behaviour. The author does not support eCleaner.

Any recommendation for another utility, preferably no-install, that can
be used to clean plain text?

MINE IS OK. have you tried uninstalling it then re-installing it. mine is
2.01 too.

Thanks, that seems to solve it. I hope to see some other suggestions for
text cleaners.
