TRYING TO CLEAN UP UNNECESSARY FOLDERS ON MY HP DESKTOP :

I am trying to eliminate unnecessary large folders from my hard drive.

What does the I386 folder do? Can I remove it if I have full backups or
images of my C partition? If I can NOT remove the entire I386 folder, can
I remove any sub-folders within there?

Inside the C parition there is a folder called HP. Inside the HP Folder,
there are 12 PATCH subfolders. If I remove these PATCH FOLDERS, when I
unghost and rollback images will I be OK without these folders?

Inside the C partition there is a folder called C4309. It is 221 mb in
size. . If I remove these SUBFOLDERS , when I rollback and unghost and
rollback images will I be OK without these folders?

On my C partition, I have 3 folders that start with a tilde. They are:
~JSA.000 ~JSRC.000 and ~JTRG.000 . Inside of each of these folders are
subfolders that say: Documents and Settings Folder ; Program Files
Folder and Windows Folder. Can I remove all the folders if I have full
backups or images of my C partition? If I can NOT remove the main folders,
can I remove any sub-folders within there? When I rollback and unghost and
rollback images will I be OK without these folders?

I have many folders on my computer.. When I right-click and choose
PROPERTIES, they will say 713kb is SIZE. Then it will 32.6mb is SIZE ON
DISK. Why does a 713kb folder take up 32.6mb ???

If you are not short of disk space I'd leave well alone.

If you are getting short of disk space then:

1. Uninstall any programs you no longer want.
2. Run disk clean up
3, Run defragmenter

Delete files from TEMP named directories (this is usually fairly safe)

If you must tidy up, you can delete folders for any programs you have
uninstalled but folders have been left.
..

The best advice as far as files go

hint: if you remove the i386 folder and windows "XP"
needs it the next time you reboot the folder will re-
appear.
