doesn't fully clean out all the gcasDtServ on the
registry when uninstalling MSAS beta 1. can i delet all
the gcasDtServ on the registry?

I understand what he wants, I'm just unclear of any actual measurable
benefit from doing so.

sometimes to many stuff on the registry will cause
trouble or performance issue. to many application leave
behind trash on the registry and does not clean it all
this is why some computer get slower. that's why there's
utilities like ccleaner to do the job.

Can you point me to an objective review of registry cleaners that shows a
measurable performance improvement with an NT-based version of Windows?

I'd like to get rid of the MS anti-spyware remnants, too.
I un-installed it, but it remains in the Startup list. Will
getting rid of gcasDtServ in the registry get rid to the
Startup entry? (Not too comfortable with diddling the
Registry, and I'd prefer not having to go in there.)

How did you uninstall it? A normal uninstall should remove it from the
startup list.

Are you sure that you don't have some other product which has active
protection, attempting to protect the startup items?

If you want to remove the startup item, without registry editing, I would
recommend reinstalling, and then uninstalling, to see whether that is
successful in doing the job right the next time around.
