I have recently noticed that my PC had accumulated quite
a collection of dust around the back of the main housing
and where all the leads are plugged in. I would like to
attempt to clean it and was just wondering if there is
any special equipment that i need to have before i go
plunging in and messing about with the computer, and if
so where can i obtain this equipment.

Many thanks for any help
Dave

Hi Dave,

I use compressed air, a shop vac hose and soft paint
brushes of assorted sizes to clean away dust bunnies. ;-)

The brushes are good to use with the shop vac to
dislodge and capture most of the dust before using
short bursts of compressed air to finish the job.

I usually take advantage of the opportunity to remove
all my adapters and RAM, clean the contacts and
reseat them. I exercise extreme caution when doing this!

You should also discharge any static electricity you may have in your body
by touching the medal frame of the case or use a static wrist band made for
this... I do the first and do it each time before you touch any inside part
of the motherboard etc. or you just might have a fried computer.
