Clean up C: drive

My Windows 2000 SBS has very low disk space and I'm running out of options to
clean it up. I have used the cleanup wizard and removed any unused
applications from Add/Remove programs, however, I am still using 95% of the
8GB hard drive. What can I do to free up more disk space? Are there any
hidden temporary files that I can remove without damaging anything?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Susan

IMO you are fighting a losing battle, unless you have only very basic needs
for your use of a PC
I suppose a larger hd is'nt an option?

In Internet Options> Temp Internet Files> Settings.......adjust to 50mb
In Explorer, under your Winnt (windows) Folder files marked
$NtUninstallKB*******$ can be deleted, allthough if you do this you wont be
able to uninstall any win updates, so start with earliest files first.

You could try defragmenting the drive, which may free up same space. You
can try compressing many of the folders on your disk using the
<properties/general/advanced> option. That would free up a fair bit of
space, but you have to have your drive formatted with NTFS in the first
place. But in the end it is postponing the fact that eventually you need
a bigger drive.

Before you try anything foolhardy go to Acronis and download the free program
Acronis True Image version 8.0 and make an image of the drive. You must have
somewhere where you can store it - surely a computer today does not exist with
just 8GB storage - if that is what you have and you are using 95% of that, you
cannot even use the windows defrag utility.

Tell us a little more about you computer.

You need to update your records...Acronis no longer makes this offer.

If the OP finds an old link it will be re-directed to a new page that states.
"This offer has already expired."

Try it:

If the OP finds an old link it will be re-directed to a new page that states.

You could also try this in Google "Free+Acronis+7" without the quotes.
Anyway if someone really wants to be into computers, it cannot be too much to
ask for some $ 30 or thereabouts. Just how much time are you giving away for
free.

That's the advice you should have posted and, if you wanted to be really

Although your sentence lacks a question mark, I'll assume it's a valid question
and answer accordingly. I've been participating in these newsgroups since 1997
and have given more free advice than you can imagine and it's usually current
and accurate.

Oh my, I must have touched a sore spot again. I've noticed in previous posts
that you can't stand a little criticism for your lame advice and cynical
remarks. You need to stay out of that sun a lot more.

Well fellas,
I want to thank both of you for being helpful...
I do believe that it is in order
I've never used the app. and really was curious.
I've found what I needed.

Thanks again,
peace,
dcdon
