Using Vista. Just updated to Adobe Reader 9.0. Still have some files
under "Adobe/Reader 8.0". This includes ther following files
Spelling.*
DisplayLanguageNames.*.txt
and lots of files under Providers/Proximity.

Is this just junk I can delete? What else should I delete?

Run Ccleaner...it should get rid of any bits and bobs you don't need.
You can also use the registry cleaner in Ccleaner with a backup of your
registry in case something goes awry.

A backup of the registry cleaner doesn't help you if the result of
using the registry cleaner is an unbootable computer.

Registry cleaning programs are *all* snake oil. Cleaning of the
registry isn't needed and is dangerous. Leave the registry alone and
don't use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and
what vendors of registry cleaning software try to convince you of,
having unused registry entries doesn't really hurt you.

The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner erroneously
removing an entry you need is far greater than any potential benefit
it may have.

However, CCleaner is a good program, if you avoid its registry
cleaning feature.

I did with no ill effects. Actually, I renamed the folder and waited.
When nothing went wrong, I deleted it...
