Clean Reboot Issues

I recently upgraded from ME to XP. I followed all directions carefully, including uninstalling antivirus software. My home page on Internet Explorer defaults to some bogus search engine. I have searched Microsoft's knowledge base extensively and have followed the steps in attempting to restore the home page back to normal. I cannot perform a clean boot and have noticed two programs in the SysConfig utility's StartUp tab that I think might be viruses (msblast.exe and systray.exe). I have installed Norton Internet Security 2004 and have done a full scan on my computer several times. Now, when I attempt to restore my home page default, I cannot even change it in Tools--Internet Options--Home Page. Should I just reintall the whole operating system???

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mike

Msblast.exe is a virus (worm) , buy systray. exe is not. Go to the startup
tab and uncheck msblast then apply. Remove msblast.exe from system per
instructions that can be found on your antivirus software's website. Jym
