I am trying to set the user interface of WVT(Windows Vista) as that of
WXP. Is it possible to realize WXP style Windows Explorer in which the
folder tree is displayed on the left pane?

Thanks for your response.
I am seeing just one pane so I am not seeing the Windows Explorer tree.
How can I manually expand or create the left pane?

It sounds like I need to maximize something but I still do not
understand exactly what should be maximized to display left pane. I
wonder if you are referring to Internet Explorer instead.

Andre,

I have found the solution. My difficulty was due to that the folder
options was set for "Use classic folders". I changed this to "Show
preview and filter" then "Folders" showed up.
Thanks anyway in trying to help me.

That was your problem? That's my problem too. Who would ever think that
classic folders would have the folders tree view. Why would you and I set
classic folders and then expect to see the folders. Time for our cat scans.

It's to bad microsoft has done this, while I love the look of Vista, this not
having a 2000/xp style explorer is a killer for me. Either have to stick with
XP or wait till a 3rd party fixes this mistake in design. Kinda funny that MS
wants to make the OS simple for anyone to use and they replace a simple easy
to use file tree with something the average grandma will never be able to
comprehend.

Do you really find Explorer to be significantly different from
previous versions. I find the differences to be minor. Unfortunately,
MS missed a chance to make it better (like having two separate views
without opening two instances), but it doesn't seem any worse.
They've replaced "+" signs next to folders with triangles -- no big
whoop.
