I never see any references to the Classic Windows UI under Vista. Is that
option still available? If it is, how close is it, or are there some
differences between the Classic UI under XP and the Classic UI under Vista?
Thanks.

Yup it's still there, looks like Windows 2000.

Classic UI still exist, right click Desktop > click Personalize > Themes >
from the themes list box choose "Windows Classic".

Differences, it adapts elements of the new Explorer shell while retaining
the Classic look and feel. I personally think it could have been smooth out
more.

Another way to get the Classic is right click desktop > Personalize >
Windows Colors and Appearance > (open classic appearance properties for more
color options - when running Aero Glass only - if you're not running Aero
Glass, skip this step) > Windows Standard, Windows Classic, etc. it works
the same way as XP from here on out.
Here's a screenshot of Vista on my computer from a more recent build,
although not an RTM build. (Build 5744)

It was an assignment. We have to find a political cartoon and describe it
every week. Most of them are about our friend, President Bush. (coughing
with sarcasm)
