Antivirus scanner; bet you can't use just one! ;-)

http://www.clamwin.com/

Tested on 2k/xp; works well.

Nice program. I use it for a "second opinion". If it had resident and e-mail
protection, it would be great.

Only knock is that the scanner is a bit slow. I just use it for checking 1
file or folder anyway.

Benchmark scanning \System32 folder structure against Nod32

Nod32 4680 files scanned in 32 seconds
ClamWin 5685 files scanned in 179 seconds

Bob, website says it can scan a selected folder from context menu, can you select
a folder from a ClamWin screen?

Yes, you can choose any folder from ClamWin. Double click on the list of
drive letters and the folders pop down.

Thanks, Bob. I'm posting separately about a problem.

/3iff //ullins laid this down on his screen :
no real-time protection. worthless.

Slow as crud is my comment and the emulation layer for the engine sucks
your memory while scanning...

As deus you needn't...;-)

:D The computer hasn't been attacked for months, since I learnt how to
prevent from trojans by modifying NTFS permissions and blocking some
IPs.
