Cisco VPN Client when in use I lose my local abilities.

I needed to load Cisco's VPN Client on my home computer for work. It
is version 4.6. However when I run it and connect to my work site I
lose my local abilities like my Internet and instant messaging and
ability to remote in from another computer. I am on call and figured
if I get a call I can hop on another computer - remote into my
computer - start VPN and work as normal. However since the VPN client
seems to take over everything, my remote session drops. If I'm at my
computer and use VPN my AIM gets disconnected and my Internet
connection wants a username/pwd because it thinks I'm at work. How
can I seperate this? Thanks for any help, I'm new to the Cisco VPN
client.

I have that checked already. Can they control this on the other end?
Thanks

For security reason, your administrator has blocked Local access. To confirm
it, please post the result of routing table here.
