hi i wish to return the value in same cell after the calculation i
done, be it a simple one of addition. like if i key in a number in
cell , n if i press enter then return value should be +10 of it.
how do i do it? its very easy to return the value in a diff cell

Spreadsheets are not designed to work in the way you
describe. However, if you enter say =2 in cell A1 it will
return 2. You can then press F2 to edit the formula and
type + 8 after the 2 the cell will reurn 10.

This is probably not what you want.

You could use a macro to increase a column of prices by
say 15% this would work on a selection or a defined range
if that was static.

Peter

of it.
.
If I am understanding correctly it might be easier to
build a small marco which takes your number and puts it in
a non printed area and does all the calculations you want
an then puts the entry back in the original cell. I used
this to calculate month totals to YTD totals on a
commission sheet I use.
