Why is this using up so much of my computers resources?
It's using up 100% of the memory...
Is there something in XP, or did I do something wrong?

This copy of Windows xp came with my laptop as a combo
from dell.

What you can also do is go to Administrative tools in
Control Panel, Open Computer Management and Click on
Services and Applications then Services find Indexing
Service in the List and turn it off. It won't harm your
system it is a service for making your "Search" on start
menu faster. Good Luck
