I have exactly the same problem, i wouldn't mind if it ran in the background without desturbing everything else, It's driving me nuts where is the off button?

What would cause (2) cidaemon.exe to run at the same time in task manager? I saw this earlier today and ended the process on both the active cidaemon that was running at 99% and the cidaemon that was idle at 0%. As of the time of writing this only (1) cidaemon is running but is at 99%. This has just started to happen. What clued me was that the fan on my Dell 8300 was running all the time.
Can you control cidaemon and/or what would cause it to be running so much all of a sudden

CIDAEMON.EXE is the Indexing Service that runs in the background and
catalogues files so that you can search for files containing a specific text string.
