My church wants me to help them set up a small network of 4 computers. Is it
best to se up a wireless network and us what microsoft provides or set up a
Linux server? I'm new to this so pleas excuse the dumb questions. They don't
care much about security but would like a relyable , inexpensive system.
What the best way to go about this? They already have 4 computers ready to
go, and some antiquated wiring. Should I just do wireless?

Whether you use a Windows machine or a Linux server
depends on your experience. Go with the one you know!

If you use Windows then you probably won't need a
server. Ordinary Win2000/XP workstations will let you
share files.

The decision about wireless/wired depends on your physical
constraints, namely how easy or difficult it is do lay network
cables.

If you don't know anything about these things then ask
someone who does to assist you. If you don't then you are
likely to step into all sorts of traps.
