Chunks missing from web pages

I'm getting some very odd behaviour from MSIE6. Most pages now contain
one or more messages like this:
"Action canceled
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you..."

And many GIFs etc seem to be missing, replaced with a red 'x'.

Here's an example of a page with both flaws:
http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1728823,00.asp

This is what I see (in the upper part of that page):
http://www.terrypin.dial.pipex.com/Images/MSIE6-Flaws.gif

Can anyone point me to the likely cause and a cure please?

Looks as if you are trying to do something to block advertising
and it is backfiring on you? ;)

Use the Privacy Report (Alt-V,v) to see if you have a bunch of
entries for 127.0.0.1 Then try renaming or deleting your HOSTS file,
browse that page again and compare the Privacy Report you get
after that.

Good luck
