I just received email that they will be sending me a free copy of Vista
Ultimate.
Thanks Bill. Merry Christmas to you and all at MS.
Jerry P.

Being in MSDN didn't have anything to do with it.

Being in Connect, submitting at least one bug via the Bug Reporting Utility
is a different story.

No, I am not in MSDN....Maybe its all the legal MS programs I have. Maybe
its all the reports I did!
Or is it because I have a nice personality?
Ho Ho Ho.

I really missed out for waiting for Vista to be pretty stable with RC2
before trying it out. I could have (and still can) point out various bugs
with this OS. You guys that are getting this free licence should have done
a better job!

Just a beta tester.....
The instructions where very simple. How many phone calls and emails did you
do?
I must have done it right. :)
P.S. Mr. Scrooge, you ain't stealing my Christmas......

I thought the requirement was bug reports, not "phone calls and emails".
There is a bug in your answer.

It would depend on which beta testing group(s) he was in. While the Vista
TechBeta group required one bug report filed on Connect via MBC, as I
understand, emails and/or phone calls I submitted in the TAP beta group also
qualify, and there were some testers in the TechBeta group who were also in
the TAP group.

No bug in my answers. You have trouble you report it. How many errors
messages did you report? The bottom line is, I must have reported what they
wanted to know. Also, did you use Windows Feedback Panel Software? Many
stated here earlier, they thought it was loaded with spyware (LOL). Did you
call? Did you email. Using the WFPS, I reported over 150 errors using Vista,
and IE 7, Office 2007, Windows Live. I got the 1st beta of Vista and Office
2007, and Windows Live, and started reporting. Excluding all the negative
responses you did here, what did you report to MS if any? I have Vista on 4
computers here, 2 on HP, 2 on Dell. Build 5600 is what I am now using on all
with no problems. Now I have a question for you "Mr. Vista", if you are not
Bill Gates you should change your name here. If you are Bill Gates, thanks
for the early Christmas present. Best Holiday Wishes to all at Microsoft,
great job guys/gals.

Tell me exactly "Synapse Synapse" what new MS programs have you tested? What
problems did you report? I was testing 4 with Vista, and making reports.
Stop crying then, you are making the floor slippery.

Jerry,
you appear to have taken my comment in a negative light. This was not my
intention.
My understanding was that bug reporting was done via the MS Beta Client
tool, and thus I was surprised to hear you mention "phone calls and emails".

To answer your question, No, I did not use the "Windows Feedback Panel
Software", but rather the MS Beta Client tool for bug submission.

To answer your other question, "what did you report to MS if any?", I
submitted several bug reports on Vista on several Beta builds, for which I
received SFA as a CPP member if it makes you feel better.

From the tone of your message I can see that you have 'your back up' indeed.
The use of the name Mr. Vista is a light hearted context relevant 'nom de
plume'. Using your logic, and a bit of my own, Bill Gates would appear as
Mr. Philanthropist; and Mr. Balmer as Mr. Microsoft.

I hope I have clarified this. You do deserve your early Christmas present.

Mr Syndrome, to you.

What's your problem? So you got a free licence - well done, good for you.
Actually, I have beta tested previous MS products (OneNote), but I didn't
want to waste my time with Vista until I was sure it was stable enough to
use as a main OS, so I waited until RC2. If I knew of the free licence
prize I might have tried it before.

Only Technical Beta testers and a few other programs were eligible.
CPP participants were not eligible regardless the contribution.

Waste your time? An interesting take.

Beta testing isn't about us. It's about helping MS put out a good product.

TechBeta and CPP folks had the option to receive milestone builds by mail.
Most TechBeta testers did not because it meant not getting the interim
builds (and there were many).

Someone has to be first. And the email clearly states they will send me a
disk in February.
And yes Mr.. Vista, my disk had a 7 page instruction sheet both sides,
completely explaining on how to install, and to make sure I download the WFP
software, so that I would receive a full Vista Ultimate when its released.
