choppy sound

I am developing choppy sound after playing games for a while. I have
turned off Direct X acceleration and muted all extraneous inputs using the
nforce system.

system has Asus 7N8X deluxe Mobo and SATA HD. 512 DDR RAM Athlon 2800 CPU

Anyone else had similar problems and cracked it?

Hello got the same system config and same problem. Hope someone know about
this. Its the soundstorm output, the other does not work.
