choppy performance

I just built my comp. and its been doing a great job. I was playing diablo2 yesterday and everything was great. but then ileft the comp for 10 minutes or so and when i came back i had an error message about the d2music.mpq . Now when i try to play on or off the net i get really bad lag. it loads everything fast but plays it slow. What do i do?
