Choppy performance

Hi,

I recently got a new computer whose specs exceed my old
one in every way. However, when I try to play games such
as Halo or Battlefield 1942, the performance is very
choppy, far worse than my old computer. This computer is
exceeds all the requirements for these games and i can't
figure out why this is happening. Any ideas?
My comp's specs:
celeron 2.4 ghz
512 ram
64 mb intel video card

there are several things that might affect the gamepla
an intel graphix card is a no, you want to get something good like an ATI radeon or a g-force but 64 megs is o
set the resulution down to at maximum 1024 x whatever it is, your screen probably isnt abouve 1248 x whateve
windows is complete bullsh1t, get a mac, but BF wont work on it
