Choosing which slides to show

I currently use 5 different presentations with the same information on some
of the slides. The difference being some of the screen shots depending on
the product I am showing. When I update one slide show I may have to update
all five. I am looking at combing my slide shows into one large
presentation but when I click slide show I only want PowerPoint to show the
slides I want to be shown for that particular product.

I would like to have PowerPoint begin with a slide that I can choose which
product I am showing and then it will know which slides to show.

Would anyone know if PowerPoint can handle this task and how to go about
setting this up.?

Shannon,
If you are talking about while you are running your presentation, you want
to set up each set of slides as a custom show (Slide Show --> Custom Shows).
Then, create your first slide and create links to the custom shows. When you
run the presentation, you can click to start the right show. (More
information on custom shows available from my site at URL:

If you are talking about doing this when you are editing the presentation,
the only way I can think of would be to create a macro to do it. But, maybe
someone else will have a thought.
