Hi:
When I purchased one of HP Printers three years ago is now a kind of
'obsolete,' due to functionability, particularly printing Photo.

However, buying another, newer printer is hesitant as seeing that almost
every three months, there are newly designed printers displaying at local
computer stores.

Any inputs on this regard would be appreciated.

The evil forces of marketing (a/k/a The Dark Side) have convinced you that
obsolete stuff should be replaced just because something newer exists.
Bogus. I'm still pretty happy with my HP LaserJet 4L, purchased in the
summer of 1994 -- the paper transport mechanism has (amazingly) jammed
less than once per year, and print quality is still very good.

If your printer won't do what you want it to do, you should buy one that
does. If you wait for technology advancement to stop, you'll never buy
anything.
