When I requested a print job using Win98, my HP 710 and
7150 printers gave me the preference of Color or B&W.
Since changing to WinXP Professional, I cannot find a way
to print only in B&W. There are lots of articles that I
would like to print without using up color ink. What am
I missing?

I'm not sure about the 7150 but the 710 is a very discontinued printer...
you may find you regain the grayscale ability by downloading the freeware
from www.fineprint.com

HP decided it was not economically viable to write updated drivers for this
unit, Microsoft provided drivers so that you can still use it but they may
not have all the advanced features you were used to.

Check at the HP website for updated drivers for the 7150.

BTW nearly ALL inkjet printers will use some color ink (usually magenta) to
make the black ink look 'blacker'. That's why if you remove the color
cartridge, the printer will fail to print.
