Server will come with 5 cals which will be good for 5 smb connections to it.
If you have other things that will also connect taking an smb connection
too, then you may need more.

Sorry for the confusion, but we thought that 2000 Server
and 2000 Advanced Server are two different products.
Microsoft doesn't make it easy to see this information
online. As best as we can determine, Advanced Server is
three times more expensive, but is there any downside
beyond that?
That confusion was probably my fault, as when I said "server" I really meant
either one. For an operation with 5 users, standard server would probable
be fine, as adv srv will allow more processors, ram, clustering, and let you
do some other things but probably not anything that you would need. The
